The Mervyn’s athletic gear label Cheetah was in need of an update to keep current with the look of its in-store competitors (Nike, Puma, etc.). The marketing team was looking for an evolution of the old logo that made it appear faster and more sporty.
The solution above utilizes a more severe angle in both symbol and wordmark to achieve the targeted feeling of greater speed.
