I’ve been working on some stuff for Seattle Out and Proud, the organization in Seattle that puts on the gay pride parade, among other events. And I’ve been having a pretty great time with it. Everything they have had up to this point has been pretty unprofessional, tons of different logos, nothing relating to one another… Admittedly, I haven’t had as much time to work through these items as I would like, but I am doing what I can and the results are actually pretty good.
The theme for this year was going to be “We’re all american”, which some sponsors found offensive (and personally I just found un-inspiring). So last minute a few RocketDog peeps had a meeting to riff on some ideas and come up with a new theme. We took literally 15 minutes. Once “Over the rainbow” was said, we called it a day.
I went to Experience Shoes in downtown Seattle to find the glittery platform heels. While I was there I got an adhoc salsa lesson from the guy who owns the place, which has me considering taking a few lessons for the heck of it. So we’ve got our leg model (a member of the SOaP board) and we’ve got our shoes… And we’ve got a problem. His feet are too wide for the shoes. Solution? Darrell Westmoreland photographs me wearing the shoes, and the male model standing on his tip toes. Then I photoshopped them together, pretty convincingly I think :)
The feather boa was made from scratch with feather brushes in photoshop because I couldn’t find a decent (extractable) image of a boa, especially not one in white.
